Potomac Forum Agile EVM Training Workshop

Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Willard InterContinental Hotel

KM Systems Group (KMSG) is proud to support the Potomac Forum 'Agile EVM Training Workshop'. This is an interactive workshop which will address how to implement an effective project controls and reporting process for Government Agile projects.

Agile development methodologies are rapidly growing in popularity in the federal government for major IT investments driven by the desire to meet customer mission critical requirements faster and deliver business value. However, implementing Agile for government projects presents several challenges. Major government IT investments are appropriated based on a detailed business case and are typically of longer duration, 18 months or more, with 6 month releases, and many simultaneous sprints per release. In addition, government investments have extensive enterprise architecture, security and system integration requirements.

This workshop will not only review Agile and EVM Fundamentals, but will also provide information on complying with recent OMB directives regarding planning and contracting for government Agile projects. We will provide practical examples in support of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) paper titled 'Contracting Guidance to Support Modular Development'.

Be sure to visit the Potomac Forum site for a complete overview of the workshop, or a to view a copy of the agenda. Participants will be able to hear guest speakers Greg Nagel and Stephen Schultz (CIO IT Investment Management Division, Office of Personnel Management) presenting alongside KMSG's own President, Kevin Martin and Managing Director, Dave Scott.

KMSG is a Project Management Institute (PMI) Registered Education Provider (REP) and PDU's will be available for this training workshop.
